Certy was founded in 2018 to help people avoid fraud when buying used items online from classified ads. The main issue with this kind of transaction has always been the distance between buyer and seller. Since exchanges cannot be arranged in person, buyers typically must pay in advance.
Our founders had the idea to create a system to physically check the object by sending a representative to pick it up. We were able to do this because three thousand people in Italy subscribed to it.

Certy Rental is another service currently offered. It was created to combat real estate scams. Many people lose money renting holiday homes from private owners. A typical example of this is when they wire the deposit and then discover that the house does not exist. Consequently, they only realize they have been scammed after arriving.
To make sure that customers are renting a real house, we developed a system to verify it. First, we check the ad’s safety using Certy AI, and then we send a representative to the house to complete a full report of its supplies. As part of the inspection, the customer receives pictures and a precise geolocation. This helps travelers avoid unpleasant surprises.
